Providence Bible Church
We are an evangelical Christian church located in a nine-neighborhood area in northeast Denver. Our mission, by God’s grace, is to live as fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ and to love our neighbors to do the same. Located in a diverse area, we are committed to being a church that has socio-economic, generational, and racial diversity. We gather together on Sunday mornings as a unified body and worship in three languages. However, church for us means living life together during the week. We gather throughout northeast Denver during the week in Community Groups where we share life (and good food) together.
We are a church committed to one mission with one people in one place for life.
Providence Bible Church believes in the centrality of the local church in advancing the mission of God in the city. In Matthew 5:14-16, Jesus tells his followers that they are a “city set on a hill” whose visible behavior shines out and shows the world the glory of God. For this reason, the people of Providence are striving to be an alternate “city” within the city of Denver.. We are doing this by actively reaching out with the gospel and bringing into our Christian community all the kinds of people in our city – homeless, immigrants, ex-felons, fatherless, as well as young creative professionals and established business owners. Together as a church, we are modeling to the world gospel-centered ways of doing everything – family life, business practices, race relations, and the sharing of material goods.
Joining our Community
Since it is impossible to be an alternate city by yourself, our Providence Fellows will join Providence Bible Church, committing to provoke one another to love and good works. They will build and invest in meaningful relationships within the body of Christ and in the community, listening to the needs and assets represented, bearing burdens and casting them before God, declaring dependence on God through prayer, and walking in obedience to the Spirit.
